Accountability is accepting responsibility for our actions. When we make mistakes or cause others harm—intentionally or unintentionally—it is important to acknowledge the consequences of our actions. Accountability has many forms, but primarily, it’s about owning up to our errors, learning from them, and making the commitment to avoid those same mistakes in future.
In ALTAR, Eugenio is convinced that his ex-boyfriend, Benjamin, has ghosted him. However, it isn’t until he sets up the altar that he realizes he also ghosted a dear person in his life and had no idea! It’s at this moment that Eugenio makes the choice to apologize, acknowledge the mistake, and avoid it in future opportunities.
