Organization: Resource Centre for the Arts – LSPU Hall
Position: Operations Manager
Resource Centre for the Arts is a not-for-profit community arts organization that owns and operates the LSPU Hall
and the RCA Theatre Company. Run by an elected Board of Directors, RCA’s mandate is to provide accessible,
supportive and well-resourced programs and venues, with a primary focus on the creation, development, and
advancement of the performing arts in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Position Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for the smooth operation and management of the building, the LSPU Hall,
ensuring it is well maintained and welcoming to all that use it. The position provides oversight of all building
vendor contracts, venue rentals, and repair and maintenance.
Theatre
1. Manage the LSPU Hall booking schedule for both the Main Stage Theatre and the Second Space, ensuring
adherence to RCA policies, overseeing all rental contracts, booking requests, and invoicing, and serving
as the primary point of contact for renters.
2. Support Second Space rentals by instructing renters in the operation of basic lighting and AV equipment
and assisting with riser setup as required.
3. Liaise with the Technical Team, attending technical meetings and maintaining clear, consistent
communication among administrative staff, technical staff, and renters.
4. Provide box office support as needed, assisting the Box Office Manager with customer service and frontof-house operations.
Facility
1. Manage building service contracts including (but not limited to) HVAC, sprinkler, alarm, security, cleaning,
snow removal, and parking services.
2. Update and maintain the Operations Manual to ensure all facility policies, procedures, and protocols
remain current.
3. Serve as the Designated Fire & Safety Officer, including attending quarterly meetings with the Board’s
Facilities Committee and submitting reports to WorkplaceNL.
4. Oversee and coordinate building maintenance, supervising and scheduling maintenance staff and service
contractors, managing supply inventory, and planning routine repairs and preventative maintenance
throughout the facility.
5. Respond promptly to facility requests and issues, including after-hours response for emergencies and
alarms.
Compensation
Salary: $38,000 annually includes:
• health benefits (dental, medical, vision)
• paid time off (20 days plus two 1-week building closures)
• flexible working hours
Full Time (52 weeks), 35 hours/week, weekend/evening and on-call work will be required.
Start Date: November 3, 2025 (negotiable)

Qualifications/Experience
The ideal candidate will be a creative problem solver, calm under pressure, detail-oriented, organized and provide
renters & patrons with courteous and efficient customer service. You must be a strong communicator, who can
work well independently and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. You should be familiar with the local arts
community and dedicated to the growth and development of Resource Centre for the Arts. Other qualifications
include:
• Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field, or equivalent in experience
• Practical experience in building operations, repairs, and maintenance, building systems including occasional
basic upkeep/maintenance/repairs
• Computer literacy; specifically, Microsoft Office 365 Programs and Internet Proficiency
• Experience working in a theatre venue is an asset
• Familiarity with Box Office software an asset
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn and contribute to the organization as needed
• Must have a driver’s license and access to a vehicle for errands
