The Neighbourhood Strays is a bellydance troupe located in St. John’s, Newfoundland, and has been performing together for 12 years. With its roots in Atseguin (Eastern European) bellydance, the troupe has evolved with influence from other dance forms such as American Tribal, Egyptian, Spanish, Middle Eastern, and Indian.  Dance on the Edge began in 2008, as an event that showcased the many forms of bellydance, however as the dance community expanded, so has Dance on the Edge.  Each year, the show has grown bigger, and has expanded to include other dance forms, such as ballet, hooping, and African Dance.  And in traditional Neighbourhood Strays style of community involvement, this year a portion of the proceeds for the show will be donated to The Gathering Place.
