“Le Jeu” Clowning Workshop with Chloe Payne (Arts and Culture Centre)
February 25, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
Sunday, February 25, 10am-5pm
2nd Floor East Gallery, Arts and Culture Centre
*****Please note that this workshop will take place at the Arts and Culture Centre, NOT the LSPU Hall!*****
In this workshop students will rediscover the joy of performance through “Le Jeu” and clown with Chloe Payne, creator and performer of Fake Nerd Girl (Playing Feb 22-24 at the LSPU Hall!), and a graduate of the prestigious physical theatre school, École Philippe Gaulier.
Studying “Le Jeu”, students will learn how to play, find complicity, develop physical agility and find stillness in performance.
As clowns, students will learn how to break down the fourth wall and connect with their audience. They will learn to embrace the “flop” and find the freedom to fail.
Inspired by the pedagogy of the French clown master, Philippe Gaulier, this workshop is for all types of performers: actors, clowns, comedians, improvisers… Anyone who wants to get out of their head and follow their impulses.
