Short, Feature or Web Series? Testing Your Premise and Character Based Outlines Workshop
Discuss how to assess whether your idea works best as a short, feature or web series and gain the tools to assess whether your story concept has the elements it needs to work as a successful narrative.
Before you start writing you need a roadmap and an outline is the best way to do this. This session will focus on the importance of finding the process that works best for you. We’ll screen some of the Academy’s Creative Spark series to explore a variety of approaches and then we’ll roll up our sleeves and start outlining. We’ll use the three act structure as it relates to the character’s transformation (discussed in the morning) to outline the main beats of the participants’ screenplays. This process is suitable for shorts, features or web series.
