Creating Powerhouse Characters and Unforgettable Secondary Characters
Developing characters that undergo meaningful change is a vital part of a successful screenplay. This session will focus on how to create powerful characters that drive the narrative and have a clear transformational arc. We’ll look at the three act structure and use it to plot the protagonist’s transformation. Secondary characters play a very important role in the story – to shed light on the protagonist. This session will focus on creating secondary characters that help us to understand the protagonist through their relationship to them. We’ll look at different ways and show how you can use these roles to help the audience understand the protagonist, move the story forward, create tension and suspense and give the story a powerful resolution.
