Position: Youth Program Coordinator

Resource Centre for the Arts is a community arts organization that owns and operates the LSPU Hall and RCA Theatre Company (RCAT). RCA provides resources and a supportive environment for the production and promotion of the Newfoundland and Labrador performing arts community.

Position Overview: We are seeking a Youth Program Coordinator to join our team under a 52-week contract funded by the Job Creation Partnerships program. Reporting to the  Artistic Animateur, and the Creative Producer/Director of Education, our Youth Program Coordinator will work closely with RCAT’s Creative Producer/Director of Education to co-lead RCA’s youth and education initiatives, including teaching classes, program coordination, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Instruct youth theatre classes including weekly sessions in RCA’s Theatre Academy Fall and Winter Semesters and Kids At The Hall Summer Camps.
  • Maintain clear, ongoing communication with parents and guardians.
  • Support RCA’s Youth Fundraisers and Class Showcasings through stage management, assistant directing, production coordination, and/or production management.
  • Additional duties as required. These duties may include reporting on the program’s successes; engaging potential funders, sponsors, and collaborators; general administrative support; and developing long-term plans for RCA’s youth programming.

 Qualifications

  • A post-secondary degree in theatre, education, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Experience teaching or working with children and young people.
  • Experience working professionally in the performing arts is an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends as required.

Salary: $695 per week
Start Date: September 29, 2025 (negotiable)
Full Time (52 weeks), 35 hours/week, must be flexible to work evenings and weekends
