Holy Heart High School presents: The Bald Soprano
November 24, 2015 - November 25, 2015
Holy Heart High School Presents Eugene Ionesco’s The Bald Soprano
“Often called the father of the Theater of the Absurd, Eugène Ionesco wrote groundbreaking plays that are simultaneously hilarious, tragic, and profound.” Through their Theatre in the World studies, Holy Heart High School’s Theatre 3220 Fall semester class decided to tackle this Ionesco classic.
The Bald Soprano is, “a hilarious, unique satire on the ordinary English middle class, in which “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” talk to each other at cross purposes, while their guests, “Mr. and Mrs. Martin” fail to understand, and the Maid and a Fire Chief enter the absurd fray, getting nowhere at all.”
The Bald Soprano features newcomers to the Performing Arts Certificate Program with Patrick Stokes as Mr. Smith, Hannah Ireland as Mrs. Smith, Nick Bendza as Mr. Martin, Keara Burns as Mrs. Martin, Andrew Troake as the Fire Chief, and Rebecca Seward as Mary the Maid.
Join us November 24th and 25th at the LSPU hall to see these young actors revel in the world of the absurd.
“Bald Soprano” is presented by special arrangement with SAMUEL FRENCH, INC.
