Sail away with the Newfoundland Puppet Collective as the drama camp at RCA sets a course for adventures in theatre, mask and puppetry. Kids ages 8-14 are invited to take part in a week-long theatre experience on the Main Stage at the LSPU Hall led by David Lane of the Old Trout Puppet Workshop, and exploring the tall tales of Newfoundland Jack.
Each day will be filled with creative expression including improv, acting, and puppet/mask construction, led by a team of professional actors and artists.
Come celebrate your child’s imagination and the rich tradition of Newfoundland storytelling when we present an original creation on the historic RCA stage at the conclusion of Jack Camp.
Special guests will include local storyteller and actor Andy Jones, who along with Mary-Lynn Bernard and Monique Tobin will present a special Jack Tale told with puppets: Queen Of Paradise Garden.
Jack Camp is part of a larger development workshop celebrating Newfoundland storytelling traditions.
Please provide a healthy snack and a lunch for your child.
Bring a water bottle and dress for art-making and drama-fun!
