Stanley Braxton Improv Co. is the longest running improv group in Newfoundland with some of the province’s top talent. ‘Spinning Yarns’ features 2 amazing special guests, Ross Moore (February 3), and Nicole Downton (February 4)! They will perform 2 monologues taken from their lives, and Stanley Braxton will use those monologues as inspiration to create live theatre on the spot!
NICOLE DOWNTON has been performing standup comedy since the tender age of 31. A New Years Resolution took 9 months to come to fruition, but she shows no signs of slowing down. Nicole brings her sarcastic and sassy wit to any stage St. John’s has to offer. She’s been named a semi-finalist in 2014’s Sirius XM Top Comic competition, runner up in 2016 The Overcasts Best Of list for Best Stand Up and she’s opened for Nikki Payne. Next, she hopes to conquer the world, or at least complete Rainbow Road without falling off once.
Ross Moore is a filmmaker/comedian/actor from St. John’s. He digs stories and tells them in pretty much whatever medium people will let him. This year he’s co-writing a feature length horror with Pat Condon as well as producing a horror short film with Mike Fardy. He also likes tacos.
