48 Months of Trump – Rhinoceros (A Public Reading)
February 11, 2017
7 pm. Cox & Palmer Second Space. Free.
48 Months of Trump is a series of monthly public play-readings counting down to the end of President Trump’s term in office – a feeble alternative to despair, a pathetic gesture of protest, a guttering light in dark times. We’re launching the series with Eugene Ionesco’s great absurdist play Rhinoceros, about a sleepy French town caught in what, if you were wary about giving too much away, you might vaguely describe as an epidemic of perissodactylation, or a plague of odd-toed ungulation, or a crash of rhinoceroticism. Yes, rhinoceroticism: it’s in Krafft-Ebing, definitely.
The reading is on Saturday, February 11th, at 7 p.m., in the Cox & Palmer Second Space. In keeping with the standards of the Trump Administration, it will be shambolic and under-prepared. In the starkest possible departure from the Trump Administration, it will be filled with good will and the love of art – and of you. Admission is free. All are welcome.
