A celebration of EJ Pratt

February 4, 2014 @ 7:00 pm

1222014_rtglogoweb.jpg.ashxFebruary 4 is the birthday of E. J. Pratt, considered by many to be Newfoundland’s—and Canada’s—greatest poet. Pratt’s achievements have been honoured over the years by Memorial University through the prestigious Lecture series bearing his name.

This year Memorial University’s Faculty of Arts and Department of English, and Running the Goat Books and Broadsides are joining forces to celebrate Pratt’s work and life.

Please join us at a reception in the Cox & Palmer Second Space at the LSPU Hall on Victoria St., February 4th, from 7.00-8:30 p.m.

There will be brief readings of Pratt’s poems by Mary Dalton, Tom Dawe, Mark Callanan, and Don McKay. Pratt Lectures published over the years will be on display; limited letterpress editions of Pratt Lectures by J. Edward Chamberlin (2009) and Don McKay (2010) published by Running the Goat will be available for purchase.

There will also be delectable nosh and a cash bar.
