Cast member David Hallet, who is also an English professor at Mun, has particular expertise on the appropriate accents for this script and how to create them. Because of the drop-in nature of this workshop, it could run 30 minutes or 1 hour, depending on what would work best for your schedule that day. This one probably would work better inside.

2:30 Videos installation by Louise Moyes and DOCUDANCE

3:00 Debke (Middle Eastern Dance Workshop) with Ainsley Dicks  from DanceNL. DanceNL is proud to present the first NL Moves of the 2013-14 season – all are welcome to participate in this free Debke workshop with Ainsley Dicks. Debke is a folk dance that’s done by people of all ages in Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, Jordan, and Iraq. The movements consist mainly of steps, hops, kicks, and stomps, and dancers follow a leader in a line or a circle. This proud and joyful dance is done at weddings, parties, plays, and even social protests. Ainsley Dicks will be leading this free workshop in association with the Resource Centre for the Arts and Culture Days. All are welcome to participate, free of charge. Dancers should wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Pants are preferable to skirts.

Culture Days raises the awareness, accessibility, participation and engagement of Canadians in the arts and cultural life of their communities. With the support of volunteer groups at the national, provincial and local levels, hundreds of thousands of artists, cultural workers, organizations and groups, volunteers and supporters self-mobilize to host free participatory public activities that take place in hundreds of cities and towns throughout the country over the last weekend of September each year.
