3 DOGS BARKING is part black comedy, part thriller and part mystery in a raw confrontation between a cop, the lower class criminal he has frequently arrested and a psychiatric doctor who has to determine if the criminal is sane or not. It is a bleak and startling yet sometimes comic portrait of St. John’s with its hard-scrabble lives of poverty and dark history of buggering priests and longstanding class struggles.
