At the heart of the 72 Hour Film Challenge is a lively community screening event, where all completed short films will be showcased on May 24, 2025, at the LSPU Hall in St. John’s. This screening isn’t just about watching — it’s about celebrating and engaging.
Audience members will be given the opportunity to rate and vote for their favorite films in real time using a QR code system provided at the venue. Simply scan the code with your phone to access the voting platform and cast your votes for the top films. The audience’s collective ratings will determine the first, second, and third place winners, who will be announced during a short awards segment at the end of the event. It’s an interactive, community-powered way to uplift Black filmmakers and their stories.
