Barbara Doran (Director, Writer Producer) founder of Morag Loves Company, Doran has been directing and producing documentary and drama for the past 30 years and has more than 24 films to her credit. In her role as director, Barbara has filmed many of Newfoundland’s most celebrated talent including writer Lisa Moore (Hard Rock and Water); Mary Walsh (Young Triffie’s Been Made Away With); Cathy Jones (Keeping Up with Cathy Jones); Joel Hynes, Michael Crummey, Ron Hynes (To Dublin with Love). Doran’s most recent documentaries include LA TAPISSERIE DU FRENCH SHORE/PHANTOMS ON THE FRENCH SHORE and LIFE BELOW ZERO. Doran co-produced Random Passage, an eight-hour period drama series, earning two Gemini Awards, and recently co-produced the feature film THE GRAND SEDUCTION directed by Don McKellar, which garnered four nominations at The Canadian Screen Awards including BEST PICTURE. She is a member of the Directors Guild of Canada, The Writers Guild of Canada, The Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television, The Canadian Film and Television Producers’ Association, the Documentary Organization of Canada, the Film Producers Association of Newfoundland (PAN), the Newfoundland Independent Filmmakers Co-operative (NIFCO) and the Atlantic Studios Co-operative. In 2012 Barbara was awarded the Diamond Jubilee Medal.

Roger Maunder was born and raised in St. John’s, Newfoundland. He has independently produced, written and directed a number of films including Cut From The Same Cloth which recently aired on CBC Television’s ‘Canadian Reflections’ and the multi award winning short drama Swallowed, which also appeared on ‘Canadian Reflections’ as well as ‘Bravo!’. His short The White Balloon screened at the L.A. Children’s Film Festival. Roger also directed many music videos for bands/musicians that have become youtube sensations such as Colleen Power’s ‘New Townie Man’. Recognizing a need to showcase local films in 2001 Maunder created the successful Nickel Independent Film Festival based in St. John’s. In 2007 Maunder’s debut novel MUNDY POND was published by Creative Book Publishing. It is currently in the development stages as a feature film. He currently resides in downtown St. John’s where he continues to enjoy writing and making films.

Kevin Major is the author of 16 books, for both young people and adults. The first, Hold Fast, won several awards in Canada and abroad. A full-length feature film based on the book was released in 2013. Other well-known titles that followed include Blood Red Ochre, No Man’s Land, The House of Wooden Santas, and As Near to Heaven by Sea: A History of Newfoundland and Labrador. His most recent novel, New Under the Sun, was a finalist for an Atlantic Book Award. Kevin has been named Memorial University’s Alumnus-of-the-Year, and the Newfoundland and Labrador Arts Council’s Artist-of-the-Year, and in 2011 was awarded an honorary doctorate by Memorial University.
