Basics of Improvised Theatre Workshop with Mike Hammond

Learn the basics of improvised theatre with one of the most experienced improvisers in the province! Whether it’s for acting, comedy, public speaking, confidence building, or for the love of the art form the skills learned from improvised theatre are relevant and essential to everyday life.
As an added bonus, after a day long series of intensive workshops we’ll cap everything off with a show!
Workshop will be from 10:00am – 4:00pm with the show being from 8:00pm – 9:30pm that evening (PWYC). Workshops cost is $20 in advanced and $25 day of.
Mike Hammond is a veteran of the Newfoundland improv scene with 13 years of experience. He is currently the head trainer, head judge, and co-regional director for the Canadian Improv Games: Newfoundland Tournament as well as a trainer and judge for the Canadian Improv Games: National Tournament in Ottawa. Mike has been a trainer at Improv University for 2 years in Sherbrook Quebec, attended the Next Act Festival at the Montreal Improv as an ensemble member, and has worked with Flint Improv Co. (NB), Make ’em Ups Imrpov Co. (NS), Crush Improv (ONT), and is a founding member of St. John’s based improv group Stanley Braxton (As seen in 24 Hour Drunk Play, _______ The Musical: The Made Up Musical, Sound Symposium 2014).
