With Ken Tizzard’s new cd (release date March 24, 2015) “No Dark No Light” the story and the song have become his focus. Balancing life as Newfoundlander living in Ontario songs like “Home” and “All Gone” capture a sense of longing for the past while learning to love the present. “Dance Again” and “The Devil” address life’s high’s and low’s, while songs drenched with heartbreak juxtapose the romantic themes of “I Got You.” Ken also writes outside personal experience with songs like “37 Bullets” (the story of Alice, a young waitress who falls in love with Clyde Barrow during one of his early robberies). ”Mud On My Boots” was written and recorded for 86 year-old Ontario farmer Frank Meyers who is undergoing a land dispute with the Canadian government as they claim his farm for an expansion of Trenton Airbase.
