Issue 3. Curated by Jason Wells.
Jason Wells –
Jason Wells is a multimedia artist from Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador. He works in St John’s, NL as a Letterpress Printmaking Devil and Alternative Drag Performer. In his work, Wells is interested in pushing the Queer agenda while exploring the way that isolation plays into the mind of a Newfoundland Artist. As a Live Magazine curator, Jason would like to showcase some meaningful art, using the four pillars of drag culture: Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve, and Talent.
Ritual Frames –
RITUAL FRAMES is an experimental electronic project by artist/poet/graduate student Daze Jefferies. Using found sounds, trip hop beats, and distressed synthscapes, her work can be taken as a howling of transsexual experience in NL. It is particularly guided by the environment and processes of time, as well as issues of space and place.
Meh Eh Its Meh by Jason Penney –
A multimedia artist from St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. Their work uses sculptural, theatrical and video elements. Daily routines, household objects, and history are mined and exploited when developing themes. Cynicism and humour are used to subvert narratives and aesthetic structures favoring absurdity. Meh Eh Its Meh is part of an ongoing series of work ‘Not everyday is special, everyday is a Special’ a combination of made for TV video specials and lack luster VHS home video recordings.
EVELYN J. TUDOR
Banned from three countries and wanted in 23 different states and provinces across the US and Canada. Evelyn J. Tudor is St.John’s premier socialite who may or may not be connected to several mysterious deaths and disappearances of wealthy men across North America. According to her most recent cover story she was born in London England, but lost her accent the night princess Diana died due to shock. Always on the hunt for her next vict-I mean husband, you can find Lady J. skulking around parties involving the most uppity crowd imaginable, usually escorted by one or two high profile companions. Make sure to keep your wallet close and your vitals covered around this black widow. She’s also gone by the name Ryan Pittman, a local actor but he’s not important.
