NAX Presents: When the Angel of Death Says ? How are you
August 4, 2016 - August 7, 2016
August 4th-7th – 8pm
NAX (NewfoundlandartistX), in partnership with the Arts and Culture Centre (ACC), is proud to announce the presentation of Playwright Lois Brown’s new play, “When the Angel of Death says ?How Are You…” at the LSPU Hall.
This play reveals the workings of the hospital from the patient’s perspective. The main character, Patience, undergoes a traumatic accident and her subconscious invents an angel and two little girls to help her overcome her fear of dying. The play merges the dreamy, surreal experience of the hospital, the drugs and often terrifyingly absurd hospital culture that conspire to alter a patient’s reality. This is a dark comedy of bedpans and microwave hats, and the epic/theatrical quality of angels and death.
Directed by Lois Brown, the play stars Sara Tilley, Courtney Brown, Monica Walsh, Lauren Patten and Emmajane Donnan. Dramatrugy by Emma Tibaldo.
This show is supported by The Canada Council for the Arts, ArtsNL, Canadian Heritage, and the City of St. John’s.
